An Australian company is hoping to sell coal-burning power plants and a lot of it will come from the United States.
The Australian coal mining industry and coal-producing state of Queensland have both been grappling with the decline of their coal supplies.
Now, according to a new report from the Australian Chamber of Mines, there is a big market for the coal in the US, with US coal production accounting for just under one third of the world’s coal supply.
The chamber said that its latest research showed that there was a market for Australian coal in both the US and Europe.
A new study from the chamber’s Australia and New Zealand branch shows that there is an opportunity for the Australian coal industry to capture and export the world market share in coal supply for the foreseeable future.
Australian coal producers could become the first US-based coal exporters
